Ring Sizing Guide

NEED HELP WITH YOUR RING SIZE? 

The best way to determine your ring size is to ask your local jeweller measure you up. I really encourage this as it’s the most accurate method by far. 

If you are unable to get to a local jeweller, you can try the method below, although this is less accurate: 

  1. If you have other rings that fit the same finger, you can measure the inside diameter of the ring. Check your diameter against the chart below to find your size.
  2. Depending on what type of ring you want, I'd recommend a size up if you're between sizes. For stone rings, go with the slightly smaller size if you're unsure as these are easier to resize bigger than smaller.
  3. The measurement needs to be very precise - as every mm makes a difference. 
  4. You can also print out this form and follow instructions for matching your ring to the measurements on the printout. Just make sure you print this correctly at 100% (actual size) - the instructions are at the top of the doc. I would do both methods, a few times, so that you can be sure of accuracy. 

Other tips for measuring ring size:  

  • The ring should fit your finger comfortably: snug enough so it won't fall off, but loose enough to slide over your knuckle with relative ease.
  • Measure the finger on the hand you will wear the ring most, as our dominant hands are often different sizes
  • Rings with wider bands (which most ALUX rings are) will fit a bit tighter than rings with a thinner band, so keep this in mind and if you measure one of your existing rings, measure one with a similar width as the ring you want to purchase. If you are in-between sizes, I’d recommend the larger size in most cases (except stone rings). 
  • If your knuckle is bigger than the base of your finger, measure both and pick a size in between the two.
  • It's best to measure your ring size at the end of the day and when your hands are warm. Finger size changes depending on the time of day and the weather, and your fingers are actually smaller in the early morning and in cold weather.

Important note for rings with stones: If your order the incorrect size, it may not be possible to resize as it depends on the stone setting.
